Design competition
The Berlin-Brandenburg Media Institution plans to establish a media literacy and education center as a northern border to the media location Potsdam-Babelsberg.
The design provides a distinctive and modern angular building. Its position at the crossroads rounds off the existing media grounds and forms an urban module with its adjoining buildings to the south, a twin villa and a small office building.
The new building interlocks with its surroundings through its chosen scale and by taking into account the existing building alignments.
Diverse inward and outward views allow the inside of the building to be visible from the outside. The adjoining tree lined area next to the court yard highlights the desired communal aspect.
